Broadway Brings the LOVE to Heritage Park

The Broadway Hometown Partnership will unveil its own LOVE artwork in Heritage Park, Broadway, VA on Saturday, July 8th, 2017 as part of a state and local partnership to promote tourism. The artwork, which is more than 30 feet long and at least 7 feet high, is part of the Virginia is for Lovers campaign and designed to promote family-friendly vacation experiences in Virginia.

“We are extremely proud to have partnered with local businesses to create our own LOVE artwork in our community.” says CeCe Dodd, Executive Director of the Broadway Hometown Partnership. “The BHP received a Virginia Tourism Grant to cover part of the cost. The Lions Club of Broadway has donated funds toward the project, and Lantz Construction took the lead to bring our design concept to life. The project was completed with donations, material and fabrication work from our partners Broadway Metal Works, Martin’s Native Lumber, Agri of Virginia, Superior Concrete, Alger’s Excavation, A&D Applicators and Marlin Fulk.”

“We will officially unveil and dedicate the LOVE artwork during the fifth annual Red, White and Brew Festival in the park this Saturday. While there is a fee to attend the festival, there is no fee to see the artwork on its own outside of the festival. We love our hometown, and the community pride that comes with it. We hope everyone takes the opportunity to be a part of this iconic connection with Virginia.”

The festival highlights local musicians, food and beverage vendors, and emphasizes hometown family fun. There will be yard games, music from the EZGo Band and the Hackens Boys, and “Paint Under the Pavilion” with Promise Cook.

Visitors are encouraged to take a picture in front of the artwork and share it on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/VirginiaisforLovers or on Instagram and Twitter, using the special hashtags #LOVEVA and #BroadwayLOVE

Our iconic Virginia is for Lovers brand is about love – pure and simple, and has been for more than 45 years,” said Rita McClenny, president and CEO of the Virginia Tourism Corporation. “We are excited to share the LOVE at locations throughout the Commonwealth where so many people can enjoy being a part of it. It reminds us that Virginia is an ideal destination for families looking to completely connect on a Virginia vacation.”
